Dr. Amina Sani Bello wife of the Niger
state governor has initiated a free surgical camp for women with Vesico Vaginal
Fistula (VVF) in the state.The camp which had over twenty women suffering from
VVF across Niger state is aimed at improving the reproductive health of women
in the state.
The free operation, an initiative of the
governor’s wife was done in collaboration with the Sani Bello Foundation
(SANBEL) which invited some VVF surgeons who from Kastina and Kano states.
Speaking, the wife of the governor stated that, “VVF is a
terrible condition which usually affects women in the poor areas and because
they are poor, it is difficult to get treatment.
