Rock band Eagles of Death Metal made an emotional return
to the stage in Paris alongside U2 last night, one month after they survived a
jihadist attack on their concert in the French capital.
Fans were delighted when U2 frontman Bono said 'they were
robbed of their stage three weeks ago and we would like to offer them ours
tonight', as he embraced the band's lead singer Jesse Hughes.
The Irish rockers were performing the second of two shows
at the AccorHotels Arena yestertday evening when they brought out their
surprise guests.
In an emotional encore, the Irish band invited the
California-based outfit to close the second night of their rescheduled gigs in
the French capital.
Eagles Of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes took the mic
dressed in a white suit and vowed: 'Paris, we love you and we will never give
up rock and roll.'
The two bands then joined together in a rendition of
Patti Smith's People Have the Power. U2 then left the stage to Eagles of Death
Metal for a performance of their song I Love You All the Time.
