A tourist
has died after falling from a balcony while on holiday in Tenerife.
Ramona
Fagan, 21, had only been in the country for a few days when the accident
happened on Wednesday.
Workers at
the resort Ms Fagan, from Cork, Ireland, was staying at had tried to help her
but were unable to save her life, according to independent.ie.
‘People need
to know how much of a loving kind hearted person you were. You were the best
friend to me for years. Been through so much together,’ a friend wrote on Ms
Fagan’s Facebook page.
‘Don’t think
we were never not laughing when we were together. Have the best memories of my
life with ya and I’m so glad I have had the pleasure to grow up with you.’
Ms Fagan,
who previously attended Cork’s Mayfield Community School, was due to spend six
weeks on the Canary Islands with a friend.
Her body
will be returned to Cork within the next week, according to reports.
Gardai and
the The Department of Foreign Affairs have been on contact over the incident
and are currently assisting the victim’s family.
