A global conflict prevention group, the
International Crisis Group (ICG), will Monday in New York confer awards on
former Lagos State Governor and minister-designate Babatunde Raji Fashola and
six others.
ICG President Jean-Marie Guéhenno, in a statement,
said Fashola would bag Stephen J. Solarz Award “for his commitment to resolving
social, economic and security challenges in one of the world’s most challenging
urban environments”.
Also to be awarded are Tunisia President Beji Caid
Essebsi and Nahdha Party Leader Rached Ghannouch for their “unwavering
