Adele kicked off her Adele Live 2016 tour in the
ultimate way – by helping a female fan propose to her boyfriend on stage.
The 27-year-old singer was in Belfast on Monday for
the opening night of her world tour, which will see her play a staggering 105
dates, culminating in November this year.
But she allowed one fan to share her limelight by
inviting her on stage to pop the question to her man. It is a leap year, after
all.
As the fan joined Adele on stage in front of the
11,000-strong audience, she told Adele how she’d earlier popped the question
and he’d said ‘maybe’.
Calling him out in the audience, Adele called out,
‘you need to say a proper yes, bruv. You have to say yes.’ And as the crowd got
behind Adele and started playfully booing Neil, she joked, ‘Oh God, they’re
turning. Oh my God.’
Next she instructed the audience, ‘After three,
everyone say “Come on Neil!”. One, two, three…’ And with that, he’d said yes
and there were cheers all around.
And then she invited herself along to the wedding.
(We’re guessing the answer will be yes, especially if Adele offers to front the
wedding band too).
