The remains of the governorship candidate of the All
Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi state’s last Saturday election Prince
Abubakar Audu has been laid to rest.
His remains were buried at about 1.50 pm in his country
home on Monday, online newspaper Premium Times reported. Imams led the burial
rites with prayers.
Some former governors present at the burial include
George Akume of Benue state, Abdulkadir Kure of Niger state, Lucky Igbinedion
of Edo state and Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano state.
Also present to pay last respect to the departed former
governor of Kogi state was Dino Melaye amongst others.
Audu's remains were buried at a grave in his expansive
compound in the presence of a mammoth crowd who earlier insisted that he was
still alive after rumour spread that some prayer warriors had prayed over his
body. There was heavy security presence.
