A 44-year-old woman has been sentenced to 15 years in
prison for raping her own nephew, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.
The Maphumulo Regional Court sentenced the woman on
Tuesday for the rape that happened on December 20 last year.
Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said the
13-year-old boy was at home with his mother when his aunt asked him to escort
her home as it was late.
The boy only returned home the following day and told his
mother what had happened.
He had managed to escape while his aunt was sleeping.
