A woman who re-homes battery chickens has also started
knitting them jazzy tank tops to keep them warm.
25-year-old Nicola Congden hand-knits the tank tops in
her kitchen in Falmouth, Cornwall.
Chickens from battery farms are in particular need of
extra layers because they often have few feathers, as they tend to pull them
out in frustration when kept in tiny pens.
This leaves them struggling to cope with chilly winter
weather.
