A High Court in Kano on Thursday struck out a case filed
against the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi ll by his uncle Alhaji Salim Abubakar
Bayero over alleged plan to demolish some historical structures in the palace.
The presiding judge, Justice Ahmed T. Badamasi based the
decision on the submission of the plaintiff, Bayero, who urged the court to
strike it out.
The complainant, Abubakar Bayero had on November 3
through his lawyer applied for the discontinuation of the case.
In his 10 minutes ruling, Justice Badamasi said “It is
clear that this matter is at preliminary stage and issues have not been joined
between the parties involved when the plaintiff filed an application seeking
the court to strike it out, hence, this honorable court will not award any cost
on the plaintiff.”
