Upcoming Afropop artiste, Zicool, who recently released a
single, Kpankpangolo online, has declared his intentions to use music as a tool
to impact morals in young people.
The Bayelsa State-indigene, whose real name is Ajiri
Siseri, informed that he’s on the verge of a music video to finally register
his presence in the industry.
Though he has endured a staggered start in his music
career, the Niger Delta boy declared he’s now prepared to give the ‘big boys’ a
run for their money in the business of music.
racing his journey into music, Zicool recalled, “music
started when I was a kid back in Queen Care Groups, where I first performed one
of R. Kelly’s songs. Afterward, I got the nickname I believe I can Fly. Then,
it was just for the fun and to make people happy.
But professionally, “I started in 2007, when I recorded
my first studio single but didn’t release it; I kept on recording nonetheless.
In 2010, I had to lay low because of school. Last year, I recorded my first
official single, Kpankpangolo, with Young John and released it online,” he
said.
For him, the reception has been great for his latest
single, adding that it got 3700 hit in its first week online.
“It’s only a week on the Internet and we have gotten over
3700 downloads and counting. For a new kid on the block, that is great. This
even more interesting because my only platform for now is online,” he says.
The artist, who says he fuses all genres of music to get
an eclectic feel to his sound, said he wants to touch lives in Nigeria and
across the world with good music.
