You’d think a student would be rewarded for getting an
asthmatic classmate some help.
Not Anthony Ruelas, he was suspended last Tuesday.
The 15-year-old had rushed the girl to the medical room
at Gateway Middle School, in Texas, after declaring ‘f—k that, we ain’t got
time to wait for no email from the nurse.’
He had become impatient after his teacher decided to wait
for written instructions on how to help the sickly student, according KCEN.
Anthony admitted he had broken the rules but said he’d do
the exact same thing again.
‘I broke rules but, she needed help, like, she needed
help,’ he said.
His mum thought he was a hero despite him getting into
trouble.
‘I don’t think he should have used that language, but as
far as getting suspended for walking out of class, he could have saved her
life,’ Mandy Cortes added.
‘He may not follow instructions all the time, but he does
have a great heart.’
The pupil Anthony helped later thanked him in a text and
he was allowed to return to school today after the suspension.
