In today's TV and movie landscape, the "death"
of a character isn't as finite as it once was, say, back in olden times. Just
ask "X-Files" fans, regarding
the shocking return of the Cigarette Smoking Man on the premiere episode of the
new miniseries.
So the return of Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Mooney
character on the hit Fox drama "Gotham," shouldn't really be
surprising, but it is.
The Season 1 finale of "Gotham" featured Mooney
sinking into the icy waters of the Gotham City harbor after being shot.
Mum's the word on how the character returns – be it
flashbacks, dream sequences, etc.
"Gotham" showrunner Bruno Heller told TV Line
to "not assume anything in a town like Gotham. It's very unpredictable,
the comic book world."
And even though the series returns on the last day of
February – a Sweeps month – it's a time when ratings stunts run rampant in the
world of television.
