A teenage mum-to-be has died after shoveling snow outside
her home during the devastating Storm Jonas.
Briahna Gerloff, 18, was eight months pregnant with a
baby girl, who also died.
The teenager's heartbroken family said she insisted on
clearing the record-breaking snow dump from outside her home in Pottstown,
Pennsylvania.
Briahna came back inside the house at around 9am, where
her brother found her unresponsive in the kitchen a short time later, NBC
Philadelphia reported.
Paramedics were unable to revive her and she died at the
scene.
Her unborn daughter, who she had named Kayliana and was
due to give birth to via Caesarean section on February 4, also died.
Briahna's cause of death has not been determined, but
relatives said the teenager suffered from a rare heart condition,
Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which is rarely fatal.
Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help
raise funds to cover funeral costs.
