Tragedy struck Tuesday in Ajao Estate area of Lagos
State when a thug to an importer allegedly stabbed a man to death during an
argument over goods.
The deceased, identified as Ifeanyi Nwoha, 29,
reportedly went to 2nd Francis Warehouse in the company of two of his friends
identified as Samuel and Tony, to off-load goods from a container.
However on arrival, they were reportedly accosted by
a thug to the importer, one Raphael Nwonye, who chased them away, insisting
there were no goods to offload.
The resultant argument made Nwoye to rush inside his apartment, where he
brought out a kitchen knife with which he allegedly stabbed Nwoha in the neck
and back, abandoning him in the pool of
his blood to die. Initial attempt by Nwoha’s friends to overpower the suspect
failed as he was said to have threatened to kill them if they dared him.
Vanguard gathered that the alarm raised by Samuel
and Tony did not yield the needed result as most residents had gone to their
respective work places.
It was
gathered that the suspect had stabbed about five other persons within the
vicinity in recent time and had always been let off the hook, following his
boss’s intervention.
The deceased and the suspect had reportedly been
embroiled in a lingering quarrel during which the deceased threatened to kill
him.
