A man and woman died Saturday in a
one-car crash, authorities said.
Alec Leatherman, 21, of Wadsworth, and
Halle Schmidt, 19, of Copley, both died at the scene of the crash, according to
the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The two about 8:30 p.m. were in a 2006
Nissan 300 Z speeding north on Hametown Road, the patrol said.
The driver lost control north of Copley
Road and hit a ditch on the left side of the road. The car careened off the
ditch and hit several trees, then flipped and landed on its roof.
Leatherman and Schmidt were trapped
inside the car. A hydraulic cutting device was used to extract them.
