Assassins Kill Murder Witness

A 28-year-old man, believed to have been under witnesses protection, was stabbed to death in Kimberley, despite a bodyguard monitoring his movements.

Mystery surrounds the death of the witness from Port Elizabeth, who died at Flamingo Court in Moghul Park in Kimberley after two men, wearing black hoodies, attacked him.

They then escaped in a getaway vehicle with another two men.According to residents living in the area, the victim, only known as Bradley, was placed under witness protection after he apparently witnessed his brother being shot in a gang related incident in Port Elizabeth.

Bradley apparently befriended one of the residents whom he visited on the day before he was stabbed by the two unknown men.Residents said whenever the deceased was in the area he was very reserved and quiet.

According to one witness they “were about 15 guys who were in different groups doing mechanical work on various cars”.

“Bradley was sitting alone in one of the cars. He was not talking to anyone. There were two unknown men who were walking up and down the street, but we also did not pay any attention to them... we were focused on our work.

“After we were done, we had to move the vehicles in order to wash them. The vehicle Bradley was in, was left in the street. The next moment we saw two strangers running down the street and we heard someone screaming “eina!”.

“One of the guys ran after the strangers and we followed. They fled in a white Toyota, which was parked a block away. The vehicle had an Eastern Cape registration number, but we could not make out the details.”

According to the witness they found the victim in the doorway of one of the flats. “We called an ambulance but it took too long, so we decided to take him to hospital in one of the cars. He was still alive.”

According to community members Bradley was stabbed several times.“He had two stab wounds in the back and one in the chest.”When the victim arrived at hospital he was declared dead.

“Both of the men were wearing black hoodies. One of them was wearing brown chino-pants and the other was wearing track pants. One of them had green and black sneakers on,” witnesses said.
