Teenage Girl Accused of Ordering Her Boyfriend’s Suicide by Text

A teenage girl who stands accused of convincing her 18-year-old boyfriend to kill himself is facing an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Michelle Carter, 18, is accused of relentlessly pressuring Conrad Roy III to commit suicide in the lead up to his death.

Ms Carter, who is facing charges in a Massachusetts juvenile court, allegedly text Roy, ‘When are you doing it?’

And: ‘You better not be bullsh*tting me and saying you gonna do this and then purposely get caught.’

Roy died of carbon monoxide poisoning on 12 July 2014 when he locked himself inside his car with the engine running.

Police discovered his body the following morning; his phone was next to him in the vehicle.
