Edo State Police command has paraded 50 suspected cultists and 30 others arrested for various criminal offences during raids on some flashpoints across the state.

Sophisticated arms, ammunition, cult paraphernalia, battle axes, GSM handsets, cutlass, hammers and cash were some items paraded as exhibits along the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police in Edo State Mr Chris Ezike paraded the suspects before journalists at the state police command headquarters, Benin City, yesterday.

He disclosed that the suspects were apprehended for various criminal offences ranging from cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, murder, unlawful possession of firearms to house breaking.

CP Ezike assured that the police command would always respect the rights of citizens in its operations.

“To respect the rights of citizens in suspects a manner that our operations do not lead to avoidable conflicts”. He stated.

He however enjoined parents to advise their children and wards against involvement in cultism which he maintained is the basis of all crimes.
