Father Murdered Six Children, Pregnant Wife and Mother ‘Over Son’s Haircut’

A father told a court that he murdered his pregnant wife, six children and his mother following an argument about his son’s haircut.

Oleg Belov admitted to murdering his entire family during a ten-minute rage that began because his six-year-old had got what he termed a ‘parrot’ haircut. He told the court in Russia that his wife Yulia, 32, wanted to divorce him and then cut his son’s hair in a way he didn’t like.

‘She cut him like a parrot,’ Belov said.

‘I asked her, “Are you kidding or what?”

‘I tried to grab the hair clipper and a fight broke out.’

Belov said he hit his wife twice before she ran for help. He followed her and killed her with an axe before turning on the children.

‘I killed the children so they would stay mine,’ he said.

He then went to his 73-year-old mother’s house and stabbed her 21 times.

Russian police discovered the dismembered bodies of the children, who were aged between one and seven, when they failed to turn up to school.

The children were named as Alyona, seven, Fyodor, six, Sonya, five, Nikifor, three, Ilya, two, and Daria, one.

Belov faces life in prison. The trial continues.
