Two masked attackers who hacked at a man with an axe in
the middle of a busy petrol station have been jailed for nine years.
Barrington Depass, 34, attempted to hide in the cashiers’
kiosk of a Sainsbury’s petrol station in Bradford – hoping that he wouldn’t be
attacked in public.
But despite the terrified onlookers, four men burst in
and launched a prolonged attack on Depass using axes and a pick-axe handle.
As Depass was repeatedly struck with the weapons,
witnesses heard one of the gang shout: ‘Finish him off.’
Two of the men, 26-year-old Mohammed Khan and 28-year-old
Shabaz Ahmed, were unmasked during what is believed to have been a revenge
attack.
They pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm
with intent.
