Road Built Around Disused Factory After Owners Refuse to Sell Up

A newly built road in China was forced to take a massive detour after nail factory owners resolutely refused to sell up.

Now, motorists in Hangzhou are forced to make their away around a c-shaped section of the road – and it’s all because the owners wouldn’t sell the land.

The disused warehouse is owned by a former pharmaceutical company who demanded a huge fee for them to sell up.

Instead, developers realised that it would be much cheaper to build an extension – and did exactly that.
