Witness told how she saw a man sprinting down the road
with what looked like knives before a police officer tasered him.
A murder investigation has been launched after a man was
stabbed to death in a Poundland store and another man was allegedly tasered by
police.
Officers were called to the store in Abingdon,
Oxfordshire, at around 11.22am after receiving reports of a man having been
stabbed.
Stunned locals told how they witnessed a man brandishing
knives as he ran down the street.
A 65-year-old woman, who asked not to be named told the
Oxford Mail she was enjoying a coffee when she spotted a man holding what
looked like two knives.
She said: "There were two men, I think civilians,
chasing him and one was on the phone maybe ringing the police. They restrained
him outside of the Spar.
"A woman police officer tasered him and he dropped
the knives. Other police came soon after." Another witness told how he saw a man brandishing what
looked like a foot-long blade - and another man with a bandaged hand.
A 36-year-old man from the Abingdon area was arrested and
is currently in custody.
Poundland is closed and police are guarding the scene.
